Daiwa Peanut Crankbait Review
Page 2

The first bass was on the line. Caught from the edge of the grass, in just a few feet of water. A nice catch with ideal circumstances that helped to establish a quick pattern that I would continue to use again.

Nice bass caught on the Peanut.

The Peanut continued to prove itself. No less than 10 casts later, we had another Largemouth in the boat.

Another bass caught thanks to Daiwa.
Another bass caught.

Another 10 casts yielded 2 more hard fighting striped bass. For those counting, in less than 3 hours, we had 4 bass in the boat. It was time to check the bait to see how well it held up.

Striped bass caught.
Even the striped bass wanted some.

Durability: After a day of fishing, the lip was strong, the body had proven to be a warrior, and the hooks would still be getting tangled every once in a while. Like the saying goes, you can't win them all. Sorry Daiwa, good effort though....almost.

Closeup of Daiwa's Peanut
After a days work. No bad scrapes.

The painted round bill finished up without any scrapes as well. As you can see, the clear coat and bill show minor signs of wear. The bill was rock solid and could withstand most anything we threw at it.

Overall: For $5, your money is well spent. There any many colors available, including 2 shad colors, and 2 different bills. I highly prefer the coffin lipped bill over the round one. Where the deeper crankbait failed to impress, the short billed made up for. The biggest disadvantage was the hook sharpness and the pain of realizing a fouled bait during a mid retreive.
